Russel Brandon Saying Mean Things About ex, Katty Perry

According to a post on fishwrapper.com, Russel Brandon has been saying a lot of mean things about his ex-wife Katty Perry.

Russel Brandonis starring in a new documentary that's being released this week titled "Brand: A Second Coming," and while normally we might find that exciting -- Russell can be so lovely in that weird way of his, right? -- we are actually kind of disgusted.

The documentary was filmed while Russell was married to Katty Perry, and some of the things he has to say about her are not exactly nice. And that's because they're mean. He says such mean things about Katy, and it's simply not OK.

In the trailer alone, which you can view up there, he says of their marriage "I'm living this life, the very thing that I detest: vapid, vacuous, plastic, constructed, mindless celebrity. That's the very sea we're swimming in ... 'Oh, who's he? He's married to Katy Perry.'"

There's footage of what appears to be an argument he has with Katy, and there's a bit of him mocking her in a standup show. In the actual documentary he can apparently be seen telling friends on multiple occasions that he doesn't have faith in their marriage, saying things like "It's definitely good I'm with someone I love. But it's not a resolution to anything spiritual" and "This is my suspicion, that at some point, to be happy, I'm going to have to walk away."

But here's the thing: maybe he shouldn't have married her if he felt this way. If he actually detested mindless celebrity, then marrying Katy Perry was probably the worst choice he could have made. She's one of the most popular pop stars going right now, and she was even bigger when they got married, so it's not like her career was a surprise. But he married her anyway, which makes it seem like he loved her, and how could you do something like this to someone you loved?
