"I
talked to Lamar this morning," Kardashian, 31, shared. "I talk to Lamar
as often as I can, which is inconsistent, but not on my terms." Khloe said.
Odom,
35, has struggled with his own vices including drugs, alleged
infidelity, and alcohol. While the couple split in 2013, Khloe told Complex she fought hard for their marriage.
"When
you genuinely feel like that was the right relationship, you’re
supposed to give it all you can. That’s what marriage is about," she
reflected. "It’s not, 'Let’s see if it works, if not we always have
divorce.' I am not one of those girls. You took a vow before God and
you’re supposed to abide by that. I’m not rushing into my divorce
because I’m not looking to get married tomorrow, so I don’t have a
deadline. I’m not rushing it. So when it’s time and it’s supposed to
happen, it will." As reported by Us Weekly on July 21, the estranged spouses have finally signed their divorce documents, two years after their initial split.)
Despite
their contentious history, Khloe harbors no ill will toward her ex. In
fact, he will forever hold a special place in her heart. "Lamar is
genuinely one of the best people I’ve ever met, and everyone says that
when they meet him," she told Complex. "I think Lamar’s gonna
always be that person [for me] but that’s what made it so special. Even
if I had it for five years or whatever, it was the best ever and I’m
grateful I did. Some people don’t get that ever and I had that magic for
a long time."
Naturally,
she thinks about the good times they shared. "Oh my god, I miss him
every day," she dished. "I miss what we had—things we got to do together
are just memories. I like looking back and holding on to that stuff. I
definitely miss it, and there’s times I’ll get so sentimental and so
sad, but this had to happen for some reason. I’ll figure it out over
time, someone will give me that answer eventually. I think it would be
very f---ing weird if I didn’t miss it."
After filing for divorce in December 2013, Khloe moved on the subsequent spring and summer, with French while filming Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons. "We haven’t dated in a few months. I’m friends with him," she said the Cocaine Mafia rapper. "I talked to him recently because his best friend was just murdered. He’s a great guy, super funny, a sweetheart."
Khloe said she didn't consider French a fling.
"I don’t know if I believe in rebounds, unless you just sleep with
someone for a night or two," she mused. "They’re just people you can
laugh and have a good time with. My life is so serious, or always moving
so fast, it’s fun to have that outlet to enjoy and let your hair down
and not worry about things."
In her typical unfiltered fashion, the reality star said she believed that friendship was the offset of sleeping together.
"When you f--- someone, why would you not," she mused of remaining
pals. "Like, if someone has seen my vagina, I think it’s okay that I say
hi and give him a hug hello."
"For
sure. I don’t think I was ready at all to have a serious relationship
at the time," she said of her mentality after splitting from Odom. "I
needed time on my own to digest everything that’s happened. I went from
Lamar to just distracting myself. Not to discredit French at all. I was
very honest with French about that—I feel bad. I don’t think it’s fair
for me to lead somebody on, or for me to act like I’m in this perfect
headspace if I’m not. With love you don’t mislead or play around, so if
you’re not perfectly clear, just be honest about it." (Us weekly)
